Grants of up to £10,000 for Home Owners
Home owners over the age of 18 who are receiving a means-tested benefit can now access up to £10,000 to make essential repairs to their homes.
Housing Repairs Assistance grants can provide up to £5,000 to fund work including: replacement or repair of central heating boilers and radiators, new security measures, replacement windows, doors, roof repairs and so much more.
If the work required exceeds £5,000 eligible homeowners can also access a further £5,000 of funds in the form of an interest-free loan repayable only when the property is sold.
Grants of up to £30,000 for Disabled residents
Disabled Facilities Grants can be used to fund a wide range of improvements and adaptations within the home including, installation of ramps, ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms, level access showers, widening of doorways, driveway and parking solutions plus lots more.
To qualify for this grant you or a person living within the property must be disabled and be receiving a qualifying means-tested benefit. If a disabled person is under the age of 18 they will be automatically entitled to apply for the maximum grant of £30,000 but if you are over 18 the amount you can apply for will depend on your income and savings.
