... on what was a beautiful and mild November afternoon. The church was packed with members of the Braunston Royal British Legion, servicemen & their families, as well as a large contingent of Scouts & Beavers who with their leaders all gathered to honour the memory of those who have fallen in war, particularly those from our village.
Standards were proudly paraded down the aisle and then laid on the altar as we sombrely reflected on and gave thanks for those who sacrificed their "tomorrows" so that we might have our "todays".
With prayers led by a combination of children and adults, a number of moving hymns and a beautifully bugled Last Post we remembered and gave thanks for those lost, before congregating outside to lay a wreath and poppy crosses at the foot of the cenotaph.
