The nine strong Saturday crew set about moving the tug & flat from below the Nelson to above top lock. From here the offside approach to the lock was cleared. Attention was then directed to the towpath side all the way up to the tunnel entrance. All overhanging vegetation was removed along with some previously cut branches and transferred, using the flat, to the offside where it was 'eco' stacked. Two loads were stacked along with some offside cutting that was started near the tunnel. Such was the enthusiasm the lunch break was totally ignored in part due to the lovely cake, biscuits and mince pies supplied by Gillian, Allison and Liz at coffee break. With time running out the tug was moored up and secured ready for offside cutting next Wednesday and Thursday.
