Marina Songs of Praise 30 Jun 2013 Marina Songs of Praise at the Braunston Historic Narrowboat Rally

An earlier than usual Sunday service saw a crowd of around just under 100 people worshipping God joyfully in the open air at the Marina on 30th June.  Accompanied by Grace Notes (per kind favour of Holy Cross in Daventry) and the odd toot and steamy outburst from nearby boats, Rev Sarah led an upbeat service of praise and thanksgiving, which was enjoyed by all (including a number of extremely well behaved dogs!).

Not forgetting the legacy of boating families down the ages, we also paused for thought for those on the canals whose circumstances make life more difficult for them than most.  The parables of the lost coin, lost sheep and prodigal son were retold, with the promise and the hope that all of us, lost, in one way or another, have the promise of forgiveness and new life if we but choose it.

Our thanks to Tim Coghlan, Paul Bennett and all at the marina for letting us worship here, to Grace Notes for their lovely music as always, and for all those who helped make the morning the special occasion that it was.
