To all gardeners.
Have your notebook at the ready and head off into the garden to plan your blob beds was the message from Marie last night at the BVGA Spring talk.
While raising funds for Myton Hospice Marie gave a thoroughly enjoyable talk last night that inspired the gardeners from Braunston and further afield to become enthused about getting their borders and containers ready for summer colour, while being careful not to overspend!
Whether your interest is herbaceous perrenials, flowering shrubs, bulbs, corms, beddding plants or hanging baskets Marie shared her top tips and gave us an insight into the small things that will make a big difference.
Her relaxed manner ensured that we all feel better armed to make decisions about whether to plant Echinacea, Rudbeckia, Kaphir Lilies, Crocosmia or to fill the gaps in our gardens with annual seeds or even a wild flower haven. In addition our neighbours will be happier when we leave our watering requests with them as we head off on holiday.
Many people asked Marie questions after the talk over a cup of tea/coffee and she will be very happy to help with other gardening queries if you visit her at the nursery. http://www.rimogrowers.co.uk/
Kate reminded us that The BVGA Garden Store is now open on Sundays 11am to 12pm until the end of May for all your gardening composts, growbags, canes and much more.
Also that it is time to use Marie's advice to get gardens and containers ready for the BVGA's summer gardens competition.
Two other dates for your diary are the Canons Ashby visit on Tuesday 24th May and the Plant sale on Saturday 21st May.
Children don't forget the sunflower competition.
We look forward to seeing you at any of our events or contact us via the links on the website.
