September started with an ad hoc task party. Skippy was used to access the island at the junction bridges. It was given a good strimming to make way for the daffodils in spring. The arisings were deposited at the Midland Chandlers water point.
Despite a few rain showers during the first scheduled task party the weir and bypass at lock 1 were cleared of vegetation. Subsequent ad hoc task parties lowered the height of the adjacent hedge making future cutting much easier. The arisings were taken to our composting station at Union Canal Carriers.
For our second task party work started on the ground maintenance at Union canal carriers.
