Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 Regulation 18.  

 

West Northamptonshire Council has prepared its new Local Plan, Regulation 18 Draft, which it proposes to consult upon for a period of eight weeks. 

 

The Local Plan, Regulation 18 Draft (2024) and supporting documents are being made available for public inspection at locations across West Northamptonshire, providing people with the opportunity to make representations for consideration as the plan progresses to its next stage.

The eight-week period of public consultation will commence Monday 08 April 2024 and run to 23:59 to Sunday 02 June 2024. Representations received after this time will not be accepted.  

 

This notice outlines the documents which are available for inspection, their subject matter and the locations where they can be inspected. It also provides information regarding the process of submitting representations.  

 

The Local Plan Regulation 18 Draft (2024) and Supporting Documents  

 

The following documents will be made available by West Northamptonshire Council for Inspection:

·         Policies Map (2024)  

·         Sustainability Appraisal (2024)  

·         Habitat Regulations Assessment (2024)  

·         Statement of Consultation (Regulation 18 Statement) (2024)

These documents will be available online and at the locations listed below. Other supporting documents are also available via the Council’s website. 

 

Subject Matter  

 

The West Northamptonshire Local Plan Regulation 18 Draft (2024) outlines a spatial vision and objectives for the sustainable development of West Northamptonshire covering the period 2023 to 2041. It allocates housing and employment development sites and contains policies against which planning applications will be considered. When adopted, the Local Plan will replace the replace the West Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy and the Daventry, Northampton and South Northamptonshire Local Plans.  

The Policies Map accompanying the plan sets out the areas to which specific local plan policies and land designations apply.  

 

The Statement of Consultation sets out a summary of comments received at previous consultations, and how these have been taken into account during preparation of the Local Plan. The Sustainability Appraisal weighs up the social, environmental and economic effects of the Local Plan. In addition to this a broad range of supporting documents have been produced to provide an evidence base informing the Local Plan including the Habitat Regulations Assessment. 

 

Location and Times at which the Documents are Available for Inspection  

 

All consultation documents as set out above will be available for inspection online on West Northamptonshire Council’s website.

Paper copies of the plan, policies map, Sustainability Appraisal and Habitats Regulation Assessment will also be available for inspection during opening times at the following Council Offices:
