The church at Braunston was full on 13th November as it hosted arguably one of the most important services of the year, namely the Deanery Confirmation Service, which saw 18 people step up and publicly affirm their faith in Christ, renew their baptism vows and be touched by the Holy Spirit.
Bishop John Flack made the evening very special with his humour, candour and pastoral love for each of the candidates as he confirmed them. There was also a very special moment of ecumenical unity when one of the candidates, a young girl from Kilsby was confirmed into the Methodist Church as well as the Church of England by the presence and joint laying on hands of Deacon Janet Thomas from Daventry Methodist Church. Not something you see very often at a confirmation service!
Braunston church people turned out to support the new candidates and look after our visitors from other parishes with sherry, glorious cakes, tea and coffee- and as usual did this with great panache and generosity.
We are proud of our local candidates and ask that anyone reading this will hold them in prayer that they can continue in their learning and discipleship and that the Church will support them as well as possible.
