Dear Sir or Madam,
Please be advised that at its meeting on Thursday 20th February 2020 Daventry District Council confirmed six Article 4(1) Directions which relate to the conservation areas at Harlestone, Moulton, Boughton, Brixworth, Braunston and Daventry Town Centre.
The Article 4(1) Directions serve to remove permitted development rights, so that certain forms of development require a planning application to be submitted, in order to better manage development within conservation areas, and in some cases to buildings within the setting of conservation areas.
The permitted development rights restricted by the Article 4(1) Directions are individual to each conservation area, and more information can be found on the Council’s website at www.daventrydc.gov.uk/ConservationAreas, where a link can be found to the Article 4 Directions and Heritage page.
As the directions are what is termed of the “non-immediate” type, they do not come into force until November 2020. Regular conditions within which permitted development can be undertaken will still apply until this time, including any existing conservation area planning regulations.
Any development which has already been given permission, or is given permission prior to this time will not need to reapply unless the permission lapses prior to the Article 4(1) Direction coming into force.
If you have any queries relating to the Article 4(1) Directions, or are planning on undertaking any works to your property and would like advice, please contact the Council’s Development Control department on 01327 871100, or via email at [email protected].
Yours faithfully,
