After months of prayer and thought the All Saints' Growth Action Plan (GAP) was launched during January's Family Service and the occasion was marked with a beautiful fruitcake and sparkling wine. Although our church has been growing numerically over the last three years we have been inspired by Diocesan Missioner, Miles Baker, to plan for intentional growth, not just in numbers but also in our discipleship, community and social engagement, the use of our building, the financial basis of the mission here. We understand that the more our worshipping community genuinely points to Christ the more we shall attract those who want to find him. There is no point sitting here in our beautiful building and expecting people to come just because we are there.
The plan (GAP) is not just the vicar's plan or the PCC's plan. It is a plan for the whole body of Christ here from the tiniest tot to the oldest inhabitant. Many church members old and younger have been involved in the work that has gone into it. It builds on the best of what we do and are and looks at where we have room to improve. We are really excited to have a sense of purpose and mission for the next five years and a set of first steps for 2014-15. For details of the GAP click here.
