The Thursday crew got stuck into removing encroaching soil and grass exposing the boards lining the towpath at lock 4. This links the recently refurbished towpath on each end of the lock. At a later date a topping of gravel will be applied using a wacka plate. As a bonus the ramp down from the Nelson bridge to the towpath was cleared of accumulated soil and weeds allowing safer and wider access.
