We're back at the Historic Boat Rally 13 Jun 2024 A celebration of boatwomen through the decades in theatre, story and song.

Heather Wastie and Kate Saffin (Alarum Productions) and Janul are joining together to tell the story of a century (well almost) of boatwomen on the British waterways. From Rose  and Eliza born into working boat families raising their own children in cramped cabins, to Sheila, Josie and Jean campaigning to keep the cut open when neglect and lack of funding threatened. And then Isobel and others like her who came from the bank to keep the boats working during the war.

Through story, theatre and song these three accomplished performers will keep you entertained, revisiting some of their greatest hits with some new material too.  And be warned! It’s foot tapping and infectious and before you know it you will be joining in.

“A rich tapestry of real stories and experiences, in devilish detail, of what working life on the cut was really like.”

Doors open 7.30, show starts 8pm. Pre show and interval Bar
