Gardens and Containers as viewed from the public highway on a mystery summer.
The Judge, Lynda Palmer of Clifton- On-Dunsmore, comments on the gardens on display, the pretty planting schemes, and how well maintained they were despite the unusual weather conditions.
The following were awarded;
Gardens Awards
1st Place - 65 High Street, Optimum use of the shaded spot with a wonderful pink rose and herbaceous plants
2nd Pace - 35 Church Road. The topiary is excellent and must be pleasing all year round and provides a wonderful structure
3rd Place - South Lea Alottment - A very productive garden with many vegetables an inspiration to anyone interested in growing their own.
Highly Recommended - 92 High Street, 84 Church Road, Willoughby Cottage, Marina Cottage, Brindley Quays, and 62 High Street
Old Plough Trophy for Baskets and Containers
1st Place - 19 Brindley Quays, Large and Beautiful hanging baskets
2nd place - 6 Sanders Close, Groups of containers including tomato plant making good use of available space
3rd Place - 26 Eastfields , a very attractive display of petunias and lobelias
Highly Recommended - 5 Countryside, 20 Mill Close, and Marina Cottage 24 Cross Lane.
Millenium Cup - Business on The Green or High Street with the best Floral Display
Winner - Community Cafe
Runner up - Daventry Hygiene and Disposables
Dennetts Cup - Awarded to best floral display for a business elsewhere in the village
Winner - Braunston Marina Shop, Brindley Quays
Runner Up - The Admiral Nelson at Lock 3
Highly Commended - Tradeline Ropes and Fenders, and Union Canal Carriers
There was also a special mention to gardeners improving community areas including Braunston Primary School, Braunston Brownies, 2nd Braunston Cub Scouts.
Congratulations to all the prize winners, trophies and awards will be presented at the Braunston Show Saturday 2nd September 2023 at 4.30pm
