Braunston Show 2018 ‘To show what villagers can do’

“So take a deep breath, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again”.

After a difficult year of weather extremes we would like to Thank you for doing just this and ensuring Braunston Show 2018 was a great success for everyone involved.

Thank you to all the gardeners who said, “This dry weather has made it really difficult to find things to enter” and then entered anyway and helped us towards one of the best years for vegetable entries.

Thank you to Pippa whose sunflower had a disappointing start back in the spring but with her determination to encourage it through the summer she was able to win first prize in the class in September.

Thank you to James who coming second last year was determined to improve and won Best in Group for his pumpkin that had to be viewed outside the Village Hall as it was too large to move!

Thank you to bakers, preservers, crafters and photographers  who enthralled our judges leading to the comment, “Well done Braunston, you have created a show with such good quality exhibits. We always enjoy seeing what you have been doing over the year.”

The Show is so much more than the entries on the table.

So thank you to all those who eat cake, have a chat, meet new friends, take risks on the tombola, enjoy a good raffle and cannot get enough of the auction produce to ensure the success of this lovely village event.

A very big thank you to everyone that helped to run the Show. We are fortunate in all the help provided by BVGA Committee members, BVGA Supporters, Refreshment room cake bakers and the donators of prizes.
We would also like to thank PumpkinPip Ltd for their invaluable support with the online entry and results analysis system and the staff at Select Convenience Stores for collecting entries. Particular thanks go to the following businesses and organisations for their generous donations towards the prizes for the tombola and raffle, both of which are always very well supported on the day.

Village Meats, Gongoozler’s Rest, The Boat Shop, Admiral Nelson, Select Convenience, Wheatsheaf, Charisma, Braunston Fryer, Braunston Bakes, Your Café, Barby Nursery, Old Plough,

Daxa Health & Beauty, The Boathouse, Millside Serenity Nails, Braunston Cinema Club, Bragborough Hall Farm.
