Saturdays task of restoring the weir fence at lock 4 was preceded by a BCS adhoc task day to remove the substantial vegetation. This left the way clear for the BCS team to replace the rotten posts and repaint the rails. The new scrapers being trialled proved their worth by making the painting preparation much easier. With a turnout of 12 volunteers they could afford 3 of the team to paint the bollards from lock 3 to lock 6.
It was a great team effort by everyone. Thanks was given to Brian Eales of CRT for supporting BCS by supplying the materials and transporting the vegetation which was held by David Walters until it could be collected.
