Last Thursday saw a crew of 9 turnout for the first scheduled task party of the year. Skippy was used to transport 2 totem sign posts and postcrete from the Stop House to the pound above bottom lock. It had been noticed that the disused culvert above lock 1 was being used as a litter bin. Splitting into 2 teams a team of 4 set about clearing out the culvert while the other team cleared last years growth from the lockside garden at lock 1. The totem signs were installed and lock maintenance performed on locks 1,2 & 3. "Skippy" once again proved to be a valuable asset transporting materials, equipment, crew and finally the arisings to the composting site at Union Canal Carriers.
