Yesterday saw a crew of six BCS volunteers edge the paths at the Midland Chandlers water point removing mud and vegetation. Whilst there the bin compound was swept out and several bags filled with mulch from their previous chipping of arisings. The team then split into two groups. The first transported the mulch to bridge 3 where it was applied around the hedging whips they planted last year. The second went to Tommy's bridge where two ivy laden trees had been blown out of the hedge onto the towpath. These were cut up and the arisings stacked ready for chipping later this month.
