The first task party in September saw a BCS crew set about clearing fender growth and vegetation encroaching on the towpath. Starting at bridge 89, numerous bags of arising were eco-stacked within the hedgeline. The vegetation on the bridge 90 steps was strimmed before continuing their progress along the Oxford ending the day on Puddlebanks. BCS intends for future task parties to continue this task all the way to bridge 98.
For the Saturday task party a BCS crew made a start on the grounds maintenance at Union Canal Carriers by restoring a hedge to a manageable height. A bay tree was also cut back and arisings deposited in the UCC compost area.
