Today a team of 8 BCS volunteers set about the pre-season maintenance of the lock flight. All six locks were oiled, greased and all fittings checked. Lock signs were cleaned and 'Cill' markers repainted. Due to BCS work last year no edging, removal of vegetation from gates, cleaning of ladders or removal of vegetation and debris, was required.
In addition, some pig mesh was added to the fence recently constructed by BCS on the ramp at the Nelson bridge.
