Initially, the Thursday crew of 7 split into 3 teams. The first, after doing some maintenance on the steps handrail at bridge 90, joined the second team to install a totem sign opposite the junction waterpoint. The two moorings here have long contributed to this being a bottleneck at peak times and the lack of maneuvering room potentially causes collisions with the island coping stones. CRT agreed that the two moorings should be removed. The information tiles were also amended on the existing totem. The third team set about refurbishing the memorial bench at Tommy's bridge. Finishing early the crew briefly assisted CRT (WM) to remove the remains of a disused totem sign that had been vandalised for firewood.
For the second task party in April the Saturday crew of 6 took Skippy up the flight to perform various tasks. At lock 3 the offside grass was mown, ivy growth removed from bridge brickwork and the Nelson buddleias pruned. At locks 4 & 5 the offside grass was mown. The weeping willow above lock 6 was trimmed and signage cleaned. For the main task of the day a void behind the armco at the raised towpath was filled with rubble. The eroding water flow causing the problem being channeled over the armco. A section of the ditch behind the raised towpath was cleaned out and drain pipes rodded to avoid a repeat of recent flooding.
An ad hoc task party this month painted the mooring bollards above top lock.
