With almost perfect weather for lock painting a crew of 8 gave lock 1 its 2 yearly refresh. The efficiency of BCS lock painting continues to improve whilst maintaining a good standard of finish as can be seen from the photos. A great team effort which included returning all the painting equipment back to our tool store at the Nelson.
Another perfect day allowed the painting of lock 2 by a crew of 12.
The 2 yearly repaint of lock 3 and just the tops of the beams on 4,5 & 6 will complete this years lock painting schedule.
Three ad hoc task parties completed the CRT signage project. The good weather allowing the repainting of the remaining totem posts and replacement of the last of the tile signs. Delays in deciding the design of the tunnel signs means these will be obtained and installed later in the year.
